Description

The past five years showed a decrease in number of lighting fixture specialists and an increase in the number and weight of wholesalers with lighting fixtures products on sale (estimated number of wholesalers is 300 with a market share of around 20%).

The share of lighting specialists oriented towards 'modern' lighting fixtures should remain stable at around 30%.

This market research report studies the residential and commercial lighting fixtures market in Italy.

Basic data on the residential lighting fixtures market and the distribution channels are given, 300 interviews with lighting fixture retailers (255), manufacturers (40) and large scale distributors (5) are elaborated and a trade satisfaction analyses is made for 23 brands of residential lighting fixtures.Analysed lighting fixtures categories are: Positioning of the lamp (Floor lamps, Table lamps, Wall lamps, Suspension lamps, Ceiling lamps, Mirror/Bathroom lamps, Spotlights, Downlights and Outdoor lights); Style (Classic, Modern, Design); Material (Glass, Steel/Metal/Aluminium, Bronze/Brass, Wood, Ceramics, Plastic, Textiles).Data collected by the interviews are broken down by distribution channel, geographic area, turnover range, dedicated display surface, product price range (value for money, middle end, upper end).

Leading brands and emerging brands are listed; reference prices are given for floor lamps, table lamps, wall lamps, suspension lamps, ceiling lamps, mirror/bathroom lamps, spotlights, downlights and outdoor lights; customers are broken down by private, business and installators;  offered services by point of sales are broken down.A trade satisfaction is made of 23 brands.

Criteria analysed are: easiness/frequency relationship with suppliers, exclusives, delivery, aesthetics, technical quality product/reliability, prices, markups, match with other products sold at point of sales, advertising, assistance in display set-ups, clearness catalogue, depliants for customers point of sales.
